To play on a slipper floor like gym wooden floor requires a shoe having lot of thread. It is easy to find one with high heel and a lot of thread. But I have not seen with low heel.

I use New Balance 790 Trail Shoe now.

Any suggestions?

I've seen many players using waters on their shoes to prevent slippering.

In my country, most table tennis players use sports shoes for badminton game. Brands like Yonex, Carlton and numerous others are the popular one.

I use my old squash shoes for table tennis. This is because in squash, the game is played on a parquet flooring (similar to the wooden floor panel as mentioned in your post), and normally we placed the table tennis table in the middle of the squash court and played there.

That is a very valuable information.

I've bought a Mizuno running shoe called Wave Universe 2. It has very low heel and I love it. But it is slippery on a very dusty floor. I have lost a match because of that last week.

Now I'm back to my favorite New Balance 790 which is a trail running shoe. It has the best grip on any floor. Luckly I've got it for a better deal at the Sports Authority.

I have ordered a YONEX-SHB-100LTD-2008 badminton shoe. I have to see how that works.

I had severe body pain (not just knee pain) in the last few days. A friend was saying I'm moving a lot and the feet is getting a lot of server hits from the floor and the low heel New Balance 790 shoe is not helping me.

Low heel shoe should be helping your body instead of high heel shoe.

I believe the Yonex shoe should be good overall. The important part is (IMHO) :
1) Grip - ousole must be grippy in all condition
2) Comfort - the shoe should fit nicely to your feet.

As for your body ache, could it be not enough rest after long session of playing? Hope you recover soon.

Cheers.

Try this guys, any brand as long as its called Court Shoes which is low and has sewing on the front and back of the shoe its great for me. Badminton court shoes are the best they work on parquet, cement and painted floor. The only problem with this type of shoe is you must make sure you don't leave it in your car on a very hot day. The rubber will harden and the grip is gone, the longer you wear it the more comfortable it gets and the beat part is...its really cheap hehehe.

Wanna know if you have good footwork, look at your old shoes. Its not straight anymore it somewhat bended to the side a bit becoz of the pressure moving from left to right. All the good players here have the same problem bended shoes!!!.

Body-ache...easy mate go for a good massage or wear a Quantum pendant it helps a lot. Look it up!!I can send one to you if you want it.

Take care V.

Do you know why I'm happy in the last two weeks? The Yonex shoe that I'm wearing now is the perfect shoe for me. I don't have knee pain, body pain. This shoe has very good grip on a dusty floor.

I had some problems in the first day to adjust. I sensed some kind of twinkling sensation in my leg muscles. Now it is okay.

The Wooden floors in gym that have not been cleaned for days. If you rub the finger on the floor, your fingers get a scoop of dust.

I've been using Eteno, Mizuno and Nike (indoor soccer) shoes. All of them will suit you fine when playing in a slippery floor.
