What is the most important characteristic for a all round rubber? control vs spin vs speed? Which are the ones on the market?

I look for both defense and attack possibilities in an all-round rubber. I would give more preference to control and spin and less to the speed. In my world, I would prefer also a soft sponge.

For me an all-round rubber should have attacking as well as defending features.

Speed, spin & control - these are the traits used to measure a rubber. For me, spin & control is priority.

For a looper or an aggressive driver, he/she will look to more speed than the others.

I agree to the first two. Unless he is a loop killer, he should prefer spin and control rather than speed. You can generate speed with more forearm movement and does not need a fast rubber.

Yes, look at most Chinese Players. Are they loopers with fast speed attack?

I would say speed is a necessity for a looper. But varghese has a point there too in terms of forearm movement generating speed. But if the player combine the forearm movement with a fast rubber, imagine the speed created for the looping stroke.

The Chinese combine speed and spin, sometime they go extreme with speed only. I have seen them playing against defensive players. Against defensive players like Joo Se Hyuk or Chen Weixing, the Chinese struggle. But it is the overpowering win the point for Chinese in that case. To me, the Chinese are not good at spin reading very well.

Agreed. Top Swedish players like Persson can very well read the Chinese players game and with some creativity may out-played the Chinese players.
